Good morning and happy Friday! Two more work days and then I have Sunday to do NOTHING. Yep, nothing but watch Harry Potter movies all day long.
I hope the week has been going well for you guys. I am not quite back into the swing of my Five Things Friday yet, and I am thinking about doing monthly favourites instead of showing the same things every Friday. Sometimes it can be fun to switch it up, ya know?
SOO I am excited for Christmas. I started pulling decorations out beginning of November – no, the tree is not up – and I found a cute little nutcracker that doubles as a Christmas countdown decoration. Win, win! Of course, today is Black Friday and there are so many sales that have been on all week. Do you participate in Black Friday? I can’t say I do, though if I find something that catches my eye or that would make a great Christmas gift then sure, I’ll consider it ; )
Let’s have a quick chat about work outs. You already know that I took Wednesday as a rest day as we celebrated my mom’s birthday! I had a fantastic dinner of salmon, wild rice & a mix of veggies (think peppers, corn, zucchini), a single Caesar and birthday cake. It was super tasty and didn’t make me feel over stuffed. I can be guilty about indulging too much even when I’m not hungry, so this was a nice practice of listening to my body and the cues it was giving me. “Okay, you’re full!” Alrighty then. That’s that!
Yesterday I went to the gym for a quick workout. I was originally thinking of doing some cardio and then some back strength training. However, my gym is undergoing some renovations right now and the FUMES in the building were just awful. I barely made it through my 35 minutes of running without feeling like death. I actually got a bit of a headache when my run was over, so I took that as a sign to do some stretching and head home. A few of the other gym goers there commented about the smell, so fortunately I wasn’t the only one experiencing that. Nevertheless, I got a good workout in and I know the renos will be done soon SO! Just gotta be patient.
My current breakfast favourite: oats with lots of chia seeds and vanilla, extra cinnamon and either blueberries or banana on top.
Since I am still going home for my lunch breaks to feed Nala and let her play outside, I have been making some quick lunches. Although I get an hour, I don’t have 20-30 minutes to cook something, so veggie scrambled eggs have been fantastic. They are nutritious and quick, and yesterday I paired them with some coffee and (extra) cinnamon. I will probably be doing the same today, too!
I hope you all have a great day and I will catch ya in the next post!
