Tuesday Tip + Weekend Fun

Good morning!

I am back to work today after a glorious four days off. How is it that weekends go by so fast!?

If you are part of my Facebook group, you will remember some of these Tuesday Tips for the month of September. I wanted to bring them back on the blog for those who may have missed out!

This weekend I had a lot to do around the house. Too much. Floors needed to be cleaned, laundry had been piling up from the week (and then some, thanks to the dog), and the kitchen was looking all sorts of disastrous. I kept on thinking to myself, “Nope, I will do it tomorrow. I don’t have time for this right now.” However, if I continued with this mind frame, none of it would get done! So, this is where today’s tip comes into play. Commit to ten minutes. That’s it. You can do anything for ten minutes, right? I put on some music and started to unload the dishwasher. Then, slowly but surely the kitchen was sparkling clean. Chances are once you get started, you won’t want to stop!

This mind frame also applied to raking up the leaves in the backyard, and you know what? I felt so much better once it was done! Plus it’s a good arm workout. Well, that’s what I’m telling myself anyway!

I had booked Saturday off as one of the few vacation days I have left at work. We had company visiting, though while they were out doing their own thing that afternoon, Nala and I hit the trail for some fresh air. I love having a walking buddy, and I know she certainly appreciates getting out there! We have been experimenting with some running as well, which she is looooving. This is a perfect excuse for me to get out more as well (though I must say I have been quite consistent lately – woohoo, go me!).

Aaand of course, it is red cup season at Starbucks, so you know what that means ; )

Yep, it happened, and it was glorious. Did I take a picture in front of the Holly tree in the backyard, you ask? Why yes, yes I did. So festive it hurts. We also tackled the project of hanging up Christmas lights on Sunday, though this project will be continued next weekend as we overlooked a few things like, you know, measuring how many lights we needed and whether or not we would need anything else before climbing on the roof. Yup. You just gotta laugh about it. Other weekend activities included family time, watching Harry Potter, and a super fun Paint Nite event with my mom and sister on Sunday night!

I mean, I’m no Picasso or Van Gogh but I’m pretty happy with it! It was fun to just hang out, have a few drinks and paint away for a few hours. I do enjoy painting, though it’s not something I do all that often. Perhaps I’ll have to get into it some more!

And of course the obligatory Paint Nite selfie! If you have a Paint Nite in your area, be sure to check it out.

I hope you all have a fantastic day today! Commit to doing something for 10 minutes and you will be surprised at how much you can get done : ) See you tomorrow!
