Wine Not Wednesday

Good evening friends!

Who else is enjoying a glass of wine on this hump day? This girl is! Wine not?

I am so looking forward to this weekend. It has been a busy week, and although I had a rest day yesterday from working out, mentally my brain just wants to relax and not think for a minute. Do you guys ever feel that way? Sometimes it’s nice to just put your feet up and relax, or sleep in a little bit extra if you can!

Well, that’s what I plan on doing this weekend. It’ll be busy with lots of activities. Ryan’s staff party, his birthday on Sunday, a birthday dinner Sunday night… Fortunately I have the day off on Monday, so there will be an extra day to recover!

I wanted to chat about that whole mind over matter business for a moment here, since I definitely had to apply that logic to my work out today. I actually brought my running clothes to work, that way I could change right away when I was finished. There is something about the act of physically changing into your workout clothes that tricks your mind into working out. I mean, why go through all that trouble to put the clothes and shoes on, only to suddenly decide, Mehhhh no I don’t want to. So that meant by the time I drove home (listening to my Christmas tunes), all I had to do was let the dog out and head down to the treadmill.

Sometimes you just have to do it. I know I’ve said it before, but it’s true. I could’ve just sat down on the couch with a glass of wine and regretted not going for a run. “Oh, I’ll do it later.” “I’ll do it tomorrow.” Then before you know it, it’s the weekend and you have plans and you got zero work outs in. SO, the moral of this story is to lace up your shoes and just get moving!

Tonight’s run was also followed by – gasp – some stretching and foam rolling. Man, foam rolling and stretching with your dog trying to play with your sweaty hair is a challenge. That is almost a work out in itself! However, it’s so hard to get mad at Nala’s cute little face staring at me while I’m in downward dog.

So, I wanted to keep things short and sweet tonight. Ryan has dinner cookin’ away and we are going to watch Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 tonight. Good thing I washed my face because I have a feeling I am going to cryyyy!!

See ya tomorrow : )
