I wanted to share with you a little gift guide in case you have someone in your life who is either a runner, or who is a general fitness enthusiast. There is a little something for everyone in this guide, so no matter who is on your list, there should be something that fits their healthy lifestyle or type of activity. Hope you enjoy!
All Day Tote – Perfect for the girl who always has way too much stuff in her purse. This tote bag doubles as a purse and gym bag, and is cute enough to go from spin class to dinner with friends. It also has a removable pouch inside to help keep you organized, and has several smaller pockets inside to store your phone, keys, etc.
For the long distance runner on your list. I recently invested in a hydration belt before the Goodlife Fitness Victoria half marathon in October. It was game changing. There is nothing better than skipping the aid stations and hydrating on your own terms. It has a larger pocket for your gels, and the angled water bottle holder makes it easy to grab while you are on the run. Plus, minimal bouncing, so that’s a win! I actually purchased this exact one from The Running Room.
Garmin Forerunner 35 – Perfect way to track your steps (if you are into that), plus your pace, distance, and heart rate if you use it for other activities. You know, like running : ) I had an older model Garmin but this new, modern version is on my wish list to help me stay on track with my future training.
Speed Tight V – I wore these running tights during my most recent half marathon in October and on most of my long runs ever since. They are so comfortable, and the higher rise helps you feel tucked in and secure while on the run. Bonus: there are side pockets that are deep enough to fit an iPhone, which means no bouncing around in a jacket pocket and no need to carry it. The pockets are secure enough that your phone won’t fall out, and there is also a smaller zip pocket on the back and a key pocket in the front for running gels, keys, etc. I am contemplating purchasing another pair in this “nocturnal teal” colour : )
The Un-Mat – Perfect for the yoga lover on your list. This reversible mat from Lululemon is anti-slip and lightweight, which makes packing it a breeze. You can find yoga mats at any sporting goods retailer and even places like Winners and Home Goods. They make a great gift and come in tons of colours. Pair this with a foam roller and your gift-receiver will have no excuse to get that post-run recovery in!
Nike Element Hoody – Whether you are running on the trail or running errands, this hoody-style sweater is sure to keep you warm during the cool mornings and cold winter months. It is moisture-wicking and will keep your neck nice and ears toasty. Cold ears ain’t cute!
Fleece Be True Hoodie – Perfect for warming up after a cold long run, or for lounging around the house. I love the quilted detail and the cotton fleece helps you retain heat. There is nothing better than a cozy hoodie – grab a hot cuppa coffee (with Bailey’s!) and you are set!
Run Fast Eat Slow – A book of recipes by THE Shalene Flanagan to help your athlete friend stay nourished and fueled no matter what their activity.
Believe Training Journal – Elite runner Lauren Fleshman created this journal to help the runner in your life stay accountable and motivated. Documenting your work outs can not only be therapeutic, but an excellent way to see how far you have come in your training. I have added this to my Christmas list!
