My Go To Golden Milk

Good morning!

I wanted to share a simple recipe for golden milk. You have probably seen golden milk all over the internet these days. It seems to be a huge craze right now – and rightfully so! The star ingredient of golden milk, which also gives the nice, golden colour, is TURMERIC! If you didn’t know already, turmeric contains curcumin, which holds anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. I am all for adding superfoods to my every day routine, and this golden milk is an excellent way to do so.

So, how do you make it? And what does it taste like?

I’m sure everyone has a twist of their own on golden milk recipe, but this is how I have been making mine lately:

1 mug of cashew milk (I measure in the mug that I want to use, then pour into a pot)

1 tsp turmeric

1-2 tsp cinnamon

Splash of vanilla

1 tsp coconut oil

1 tbsp of GOOD quality maple syrup (none of that Aunt Jemima crap)

Bring everything to a simmer on the stove, mixing well. For some extra froth, place into your blender (as you would bullet proof coffee – which I have been drinking more of lately!) and blend on high for 20 seconds. Then, sprinkle more cinnamon on top and voila!



Of course I can’t let go of the snow flake mug yet (or EVER because WHY!?)  Golden milk is such a nice way to wind down after a long day. Instead of a Friday night glass of wine this last weekend I opted for golden milk. Also I was too lazy to get the corkscrew and open the bottle of wine (why can’t they all be twist-offs?), but I digress. Fueling my body with things that make me feel good and not hungover in the morning is a huge win, too!
