Good morning! Happy Monday everyone : )
I admit: I was battling a bit of a sore throat (yes, again) Saturday night and Sunday, but I am not paying much attention to it and am going to continue about my usual business. If I think about it too much, it will manifest into something more than it should be, you know? Antibiotics are done, I have more energy… Here’s hoping it’s just a one off!
That being said, it was a fun weekend filled with TONS of sunshine. We had a major heat wave here on Vancouver Island. It was like being back in Vegas again! I spent a lot of time out on the deck reading, and I finished my latest book, Radical Self Love by Gala Darling. It is a cute, quick read that talks about expressing yourself, and how to make the most out of your spirituality and self love practice. Yes, this means taking a break when you need to and taking a bubble bath to relax instead of being GO GO GO all the time. That definitely struck a cord with me because I am typically rushing around, especially on my days off, only to feel tired when the work week begins. Nope – not anymore! I am trying my best to slow the heck down, especially with marathon training and everything else happening this summer! And yes, I did have THAT many beverages out on the deck with me – LOL!
So, to start the whole “slowing down” thing, on Friday during my lunch break at work I walked down to the beach. I was covering in another branch, and luckily the beach is only a five minute walk away. Or maybe seven. Regardless, it is super close and it was nice to sit down and enjoy my lunch ocean-side!
Taken from my Instagram – be sure to follow me if you aren’t already! I am loving the story feature and have been more active on there lately. Lunch with a view!
Friday night we had a BBQ at home! Ryan came home with some mesquite marinaded chicken breasts, and I cooked up some corn on the cob, asparagus & mushrooms. It was such a good meal – simple, but hit the spot!
There’s an update for ya! The rest of the weekend recap will be up tomorrow, and a special post on Thursday that I think lots of people will identify with. I can’t spill any more deets, though! : ) Have a great week!
